About BEPD
Our goals are to encourage Black/African Americans and other peoples of color to become active participants in the democratic process; to become members of democratic clubs and organizations; to encourage participation by educating themselves on the relevant issues, voting for or against candidates and issues of interest; participating in democratic precinct, county, state and national conventions; getting involved in political campaigns by donating time, ideas, talent and money to suitable candidates and issues; and, preparing prospective candidates to assume elective and appointive office. To stimulate and facilitate the participation of Black Americans an active interest in governmental affairs in the Democratic Party. To perpetuate the ideals and principles of the Democratic Party by acquainting voters and potential voters with the issues and candidates. To attract new members to the Black El Paso Democrats organization. To promote by our efforts the highest degree of governmental response to public need. To promote and facilitate participation in the Texas Coalition of Black Democrats Organization. To promote and facilitate economic development as it impacts and interfaces with political participation in the Black American communities of Texas and the United States.
